Writing is not an easy task and it does not come to everyone.
One should have the ability to express what he/she feels.
Sivakumar has yet again proved his ability to write with
his work , `Idhu Rajapattai Alla', a widely
acknowledged book included in the 91-92 curriculum of Loyola
College. Director K. Balachander released his book on Saturday,
Jan 01, 2005.
Memoir
The book fondly recollects the memories of his journey. He
gratefully speaks about personalities he had worked with,
was close to and who inspired him. The ones who have made
him “ what he is today ”.
He has also spoken in detail about the great people in Tamil
film industry like S. S. Vasan, A.
V. M. Saravanan, A. P. Nagarajan,
A. V. M. Rajan, Jaya Shankar,
Jayalalithaa among others in the book.
He has devoted 30 pages in his book to his mother.
He remembers his mother with great reverence. Having lost
his father at a very age, he recollects the difficulties his
mother faced to raise her children in that obscure place with
no one offering any help. His mom stoically withstood the
circumstances and all pressures and even managed to send him
to school.
In a way, the sufferings only hardened him and made him wiser
to take on challenging situations. " Each time I encounter
any difficulty, I am reminded of my mother's will power and
commitment and the very thought rejuvenates me and shows me
the way to go ahead ".
The book also has more than 50 paintings
of SivaKumar.
