Sivakumar does not stop there. He is little known as a Philanthropist, a silent helper avoiding the limelight and media to show off his worthy deeds.

He is the founding trustee of Sri Sivakumar Educational & Charitable Trust. The trust was founded in May 1979 during a function held to mark Sivakumar's 100th film `Rosappoo Ravikkaikari'.

Every year the trust supports the needy students.
Last year it was the silver jubilee and the Trust distributed awards to six toppers and three physically disabled students who secured the first three places in their school.

The charity fund amount was increased to Rs.1,30,000 this year from Rs. 45,000 last year. He gave away cash prizes to the toppers of the higher secondary examinations. Students from various districts were present on the occasion with their parents.

Sivakumar remarks that it is an attempt to encourage students and motivate them to achieve more in their life.
